Retainers

A retainers are a type of dental appliance that helps hold teeth in place after they have been straightened. They come in a few different varieties, but the most common is the retainer that fits over the entire row of teeth. This type of retainer is usually made out of plastic or metal, and it attaches to the back of the teeth using dental cement or wire. Orthodontic retainers are an important part of post-orthodontic treatment care. They help keep teeth in their new position while the surrounding gum and bone adjusts to the new alignment. Without retainers, there is a high risk for relapse (teeth moving back to their original position).
