The Invisalign Braces Process at Kumra Orthodontics

The Invisalign Braces Process at Kumra Orthodontics

As an alternative to traditional metal braces, the Invisalign system is utilized by orthodontists to create custom-made retainers.    A more subtle way of straightening teeth is common with adults or teenagers. You might benefit from Invisalign if you didn’t have orthodontic work done as a child, if you don’t want to make dietary modifications for traditional braces, or if you’ve had alignment changes as an adult.   If you’re considering this orthodontic treatment, make sure you consult an Invisalign top 1 provider.

Invisalign Treatment Process

Consultation

Invisalign can indeed be used to address a wide range of orthodontic problems, but there are undoubtedly more complicated conditions that Invisalign cannot address. For example, Invisalign, crowding, gapped teeth, overbites, underbites, crossbites, and open bites can all be corrected.   When a tooth is significantly slanted or rotated, it is difficult to straighten with Invisalign or close large gaps. During your initial visit, your orthodontist will determine your eligibility for Invisalign treatment.

Treatment Plan

If clear aligners are recommended for you, additional information will be requested. After that, your trays can be made. We’ll begin by taking dental x-rays and photographing your face and smile. Next, our iTero Element Scanner will show us a 3-D model of your mouth (which will take a scan of your teeth).   In contrast to some orthodontic practices, Kumra Orthodontics uses digital impressions for a faster, easier, and more precise process.

Wait for your aligners.

Your clear aligners will be sent to our office in a few weeks. When they arrive, you’ll come in for your initial placement appointment. Depending on how your treatment is defined, we may need to alter a couple of your teeth. Before we depart with your first set of trays, we will demonstrate how to properly insert and remove them, which may require some practice.   After your unique aligners are created, you will wear each set for 20 to 22 hours per day, switching to a new set every 1 to 2 weeks, as prescribed by Dr. Kumra.

Appointments for follow-up

We will periodically check your progress in our clinic throughout your Invisalign treatment. On occasion, we may need to revert to your prior set of trays, or we may need to tweak specific “buttons” and other small details.

Final corrections & refinements

After completing all of your initial trays, they may require refinement. This means that minor adjustments may be necessary to attain the optimum results. The reason for refining is typical because the teeth need more corrective movements to reach their final position during the Invisalign process. In most cases, one or two refinements will be enough. Next, we’ll take a 3-D image of your teeth to create your aligners.
