I have two daughters currently in treatment with Dr Kumra. My oldest is towards the end of her treatment and her smile looks amazing so far! I cannot recommend this office enough. Warm welcoming and extremely professional. The pride the Dr has for his practice shows, and his staff is phenomenal. We plan on doing my sons braces through them within the next year as well! (My oldest below so happy to have the metal out!)

We just moved to the area, and made an appointment for a consultation for my daughter. She’s almost finished with her braces, and we have had a tough time trying to find an orthodontist to work with her for the last couple of months of treatment. Dr. Kumra and his staff are amazing! For many years my husband and I attempted to get our oldest son braces but Medicaid kept denying the request despite him desperately needing them. We even traveled to offices that assured us that they knew a “foolproof way” to get the approval but we were still denied.
Being a nurse, I’m no stranger to things like prior auth requests and claiming medical necessity and such, basically fighting tooth and nail for my patients to get treatments and meds approved to no avail sometimes so I know the crazy insurance game all too well but being on the other side of it with my kids is a whole other frustration. We ended up throwing in the towel after a while.
Later changing insurances and moving to Stafford, we started taking our kids to Junior Smiles, another amazing office. Dr. Azar agreed without a doubt that my oldest definitely needed braces and she referred us to Dr. Kumra’s office next door who scheduled us an appointment right away for a consultation. Like, they literally came over to say hello and escorted us over.
Dr. Kumra was so friendly and down to Earth. He took his time with us and really made my son feel comfortable, even chatting with my son about football for a bit. The office did not accept the insurance we had at the time but Dr. Kumra came up with a super affordable payment plan for us. Well around that time I actually ended up quitting my job as a nurse to stay at home with my kids so we switched back to Medicaid. We made another appointment with Dr. Kumra and I don’t know how his office did it but we were finally able to get approved for the braces!
It’s now been a little over a year that my son has had braces and everything has been going wonderfully. My son’s follow up appointments are convenient and fast. My son is 17 so I just send him in on his own while I wait in the car with my other kids but Dr. Kumra is so nice that he’ll take a quick minute to come out to my car to greet me and see how my family and I are doing then he’ll go in and have my son out quickly, usually in 10-15 minutes.
We couldn’t have asked for a better orthodontist for our son. I am so thankful for Dr. Kumra and can’t say enough good things about him and his office!

We have been so happy with our treatment so far at Kumra Orthodontist. Dr. Kumra is always friendly and inviting when coming into the office. I very much appreciate Dr.Kumra is very conservative when it comes to putting on braces. He takes the approach of letting the teeth naturally fall into place and then when they have matured putting braces on. My daughters teeth changed so much from when I first brought her in at 11 to when we put on braces at 13. This allowed for her to be in braces a shorter amount of time.

Today my orthodontic treatment was completed, and I am very pleased by the results.
